The known causes for this error stem from two possible causes:

Cause 2: The ABN in the STP file does not match the STP account the file was uploaded to

Below we have described solutions to rectify the error depending on the cause. If you troubleshoot both of these problems and still receive the error after making the required changes, please chat with our support team here for further assistance: https://clicksuper.com.au/chat-support/

Cause 1 Solution:

Configure your ClickSuper account to match your STP configuration:

When enabling STP for your ClickSuper account, it's important to ensure the correct Settings are configured that match your STP configuration from your payroll system. To update your ClickSuper STP configuration first login to your ClickSuper account Dashboard, then click the menu: MY ORGANISATION then click the STP Details tab to display and update your STP configuration using the guide below:

When nominating your configuration for STP you will be prompted with the following options on the STP Details tab:

The list of combinations the ATO has configured and how it maps with our STP details are described below to assist you in selecting the correct settings based on your STP Configuration:

ESSP – Employer Sending Service Provider  (this is “I am an employer” + “I will be uploading for one company” combination)

  • Needs to be selected by an employer who uploads STP files for one company
  • They are not considered as an intermediary. They are the employer and considered as the Reporting Party inside the STP file.

EMSSP – Employer (Multi ABN) Sending Service Provider (this is “I am an employer” + “I will be uploading for multiple companies” combination)

  • Needs to be selected by an employer who uploads STP files for multiple companies
  • They are not considered as an intermediary. They are the employer and considered as the Reporting Party inside the STP file. This could be an employee of a Group uploading on behalf of multiple companies of the group.

RASSP – Registered Agent Sending Service Provider (this is “I am a registered agent” + “I will be uploading for one company” combination)

  • Needs to be selected by an agent who uploads STP files for one company
  • They are considered as an intermediary. In this case, the STP file contains an Intermediary section and the ATO checks to see if this user actually has permissions to upload on behalf of the company.

RAMSSP – Registered agent (Multi ABN) Sending Service Provider (this is “I am a registered agent” + “I will be uploading for multiple companies” combination)

  • Needs to be selected by an agent who uploads STP files for multiple companies
  • They are considered as an intermediary. In this case, the STP file contains an Intermediary section and the ATO checks to see if this user actually has permissions to upload on behalf of the companies.

Please ensure the selection you choose in your ClickSuper STP Details tab matches the configuration listed in your STP file according to the above list. If you're unsure which STP configuration your STP file falls under you can contact your payroll software provider to confirm the correct configuration prior to submitting your STP registration in the ClickSuper portal.

Cause 2 Solution:

What to do if your STP file's ABN does not match your ClickSuper ABN as an ESSP:

ESSP – Employer Sending Service Provider  (this is “I am an employer” + “I will be uploading for one company” combination)

You will receive the error: "Misalignment of identifying information"  if the ABN nominated in your STP File doesn't match the ABN of the ClickSuper account you have uploaded the file to. To identify this, please refer to the ABN in the STP error report and cross reference the ABN to the ABN displayed in your ClickSuper MY ORGANISATION menu. If the employer ABN in your error report doesn't match your ClickSuper account, you will need to contact your payroll provider to let them know and ask them to update the file to contain the correct ABN then resubmit your file.

If you received this error and need to register a new ABN for ClickSuper to match your STP file, please visit https://clicksuper.com.au/ and click APPLY NOW and select the appropriate STP solution to suit your needs and once registered, upload your STP file again to the corresponding ABN in ClickSuper to rectify the error.

What to do if your STP file's ABN does not match your Intermediary’s (Registered Agent’s) ABN as an RASSP/RAMSSP:

RASSP – Registered Agent Sending Service Provider (this is “I am a registered agent” + “I will be uploading for one company” combination)
RAMSSP – Registered agent (Multi ABN) Sending Service Provider (this is “I am a registered agent” + “I will be uploading for multiple companies” combination)

You will receive the error: "Misalignment of identifying information" if the Clicksuper’s organisation ABN doesn't match the Intermediary’s (Registered Agent’s) ABN in the STP file.

If you received this error please first check that you have uploaded the file into the ClickSuper organisation ABN that matches your Intermediary’s (Registered Agent’s) ABN by visiting the ClickSuper portal and click the menu MY ORGANISATION to see your ClickSuper account ABN. If your ClickSuper ABN is correct, the next step is to contact your payroll provider to ensure the correct ABN is listed in the Intermediary’s (Registered Agent’s) ABN field of your STP file to match the ABN of your ClickSuper account. Once you have updated these two fields to match, you can reupload the file to remove the error.
